On September 13, 2011, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) approved a rule that requires large bank holding companies and other systemically important financial companies to develop comprehensive contingency plans for the orderly resolution of their affairs under the United States Bankruptcy Code or other applicable insolvency regime (Dodd-Frank Rule). The Dodd-Frank Rule has been forwarded to the Federal Reserve Board (Board) for its review and approval. It is anticipated that the Board likely will approve the rule in the near term, at which time the rule will become law, subject to such change as the Board and FDIC may agree. Full post…

The Dow Jones-FXCM U.S. Dollar Index (Ticker: USDollar) bounced back from a low of 9469, and the reserve currency may regain its footing throughout the North American trade as we expect Mr. Bernanke to talk down speculation for additional monetary easing. Bernanke Portrays Positive View of the US’s Fundamental Qualities

Today Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke delivered a largely safe speech outlining the  important reforms that must take place to ensure a strong long-term US growth potential in the  future. The Chairman did not elaborate extensively on monetary policy, though he did say that  considerable discussion over the state of the economy is needed for the September meeting.
